Upgrading client to SL2015CU2. They're a small single-user operation and I would have thought this would be a piece of cake (what was I thinking?) The installation of everything seemed to go fine. I copied the MDF and LDF files for the databases from the old workstation and attached them to the new SQL2014 incident on the new workstation; database maintenance went through smoothly. However, when I try to login to the application, I'm able to select server, system database name, enter user ID and password and select company. At that point, the login fails with the dreaded "...has stopped working" message. I have uninstalled/reinstalled SL. I've rerun the Database Maintenance Process. I've looked at the Hotfix list and didn't find any that appeared to be related for this version. What I have found in doing upgrades that in copying the mdf and ldf files do not always work. What you can try instead is to back up the databases and do a restore to the new SQL server. After the restore make sure the the domain and company tables in the system database are pointing to the correct server and databases name if they were changed. Then execute the option in the database maintenance screen. All this should be done on the SQL sever before the client installation is done.

I am trying to add a filter to a new quick query - in the demos I have seen this is possible. However the filter button is not firing when I click on it. Is there a permission I am missing - note I am logged in with administration rights. Has anyone else encountered this and found a way to resolve?

There was an issue at one time that required you to be in as SYSADMIN, I that was regardless of rights. There was a patch issued for it, don't remember if it was in CU2 or not, but might be worth looking for that issue specifically.

Forum Post: Filtered Query Created in Web Apps crashes in Core SL
If I create a filtered query in Web Apps it appears in the Quick Query menu in core SL with a filter symbol. However if a user tries to open this the following error is returned. Filtered Queries created in Core SL can be viewed in WebApps but if they are edited and saved the same issue occurs in Core SL. Any suggestions.

Good Afternoon, I was wondering if there was a way to negate the number of hours for salary employees when calculating labor using the time cards in Microsoft SL. For example: If I am Salaried at 100k a year. I should have a weekly rate of 1923.07 that is calculated regardless of the number of hours a salary employee puts in. Currently it breaks the weekly rate down into an hourly rate and calculates the number of hours worked.

A bit more information I have discovered. Based on some more limited testing it appears that the issue doesn't occur in all Queries - I have created a GL Accounts one in both which works correctly. I created the same filtered query (project status is A using the Projects base Query) in both Web Apps and Core SL. I added back all the removed columns in both and then compared the QV_Catalog entries. There are two differences Client has 3 R: items in the ColumnsRemovedMoved column, the remainder is the same - I presume R: means remove and M: means move Webapps has 'Ascending' in the ViewSort Column whereas Client is blank
