Forum Post: High Availability Installation of Dynamics SL
Dear Experts- My client would like to install Dynamics SL in a High Availability design on their servers. If you have had experience, would you mind answering the questions that I have? Expected new setup for 2015 environment SQL Server 2014 R2 basic failover clustering (dbprod1, dbprod2, cluster dbprod... and same setup for cluster dbqa) Internal web servers for Management Reporter (intranet1, intranet2, using nlb with front-end "intranet"... and same setup for intranet-test nlb cluster) Basic failover cluster for file server (fs1, fs2, cluster fs). What exactly happens during a "Dynamics server install"? What gets installed where? Only files to the install directory or more (webapps)? Where do the Crystal Reports program files get installed to? Do we need to do separate installs for both clustered file servers? How do the WebApps and WebServices work under the hood? Do they install a separate IIS instance from MR? With MR, how do you get multiple production IIS servers to communicate to (one or more) MR databases on the (clustered) database? Thanks for your help! Serena Cyr

Forum Post: SL Crashes when trying to attach a file to any screen
Hi. We can't attach files to SL screens, as system crashes whenever we do it, no matter which screen is involved. Hot Fix HSL2015CU1_34949SY has been installed. And SAFMenuStrip.dll was reinstalled. Have any one faced the same problem ? We are running SL 2015 CU1.

Hi Erich, I think the best combination would be to use Cash Manager with BR module for the reconciliation functionality, but apparently BR module does not read transactions from the Cash Manager module or I'm doing something wrong?

El formato de informe predeterminado del balance de prueba del proveedor incluye sólo los elementos abiertos y la actividad actual. Puede elegir el formato de informe Todos los documentos para ver todo el historial de facturas y pagos del proveedor. Puede informar sobre la actividad de un único proveedor utilizando la ficha Seleccionar. Puede encontrar la pantalla Quick Query para AP fácil de usar y proporciona información similar.

[/quote]Si se puede ya lo encontré Se puede de dos formas : Tanto en el Report " Vendor Period Trail Balance" como en el Report " Check Register" en ambos hay una Pestaña "Report" Solo tienes que seleccionar la Fecha de Inicio del Reporte , en mi caso seleccionando el Periodo mas antiguo ... Lo hice y pude tener el Historial de Cheques por Proveedor y las Facturas a las que se afectan anexo Imagen Saludos ...

Hi, You first have to select the original quick query view and open it. Then on the drop down menu on the Original Quick query view name, use that dorp down arrow to select your filtered view name, once it populates, you will then be able to delete the filtered view. Log out and log back it and then you will no longer see that filtered view. Gewen

Wanted to follow up on the solution. It did end up being tied to multi-company. It was the muti check sub report because there were two entities in the same database using the same cash account. Thanks again for the help in troubleshooting.

Today I had a new variation on this. The client had a new workstation so we installed the SL 2015 client. We checked the registry settings indicated in this thread and they were good. We then installed CU1 on the workstation and it emptied those registry settings so we had to manually edit them back to the mapped drive and folder. We did not have this issue on another new workstation installed a couple of weeks ago. Both were Windows 10 workstations.

We upgraded from SL v7 FP1 sp3 to SL 2015 in early June 2017. we utilize a TS 2008R2 environment as well. It worked perfectly for the SLv7 product. We are having similar issues of reports and/or screens freezing. I am not sure if there is another window that is displayed and hidden during these freeze episodes as I don't see any additional icons on my taskbar and it doesn't appear to be any additional items showing in the Processes tab at the TS. At first I thought the issue was related to the legacy custom reports that we carried forward but have replaced those with the report template that arrived with SL2015 (customizing with our additional content). Users are under the impression that their fast pace activity at the desktop is what is causing the freeze... they attempt to get on with the next step in their process before the system gives back the mouse or window...could this be a cause? Yes, any feedback on this freeze issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Lolita

In AR I've always used invoice and a credit memo to off set it if necessary. How and when will I need to use debit or a cash sale? In AP I've always use a voucher and a debit adjustment to off set it. When will I need to use a credit adjustment? Thanks!

You might use an AR debit memo to add to what a customer owes. While a debit memo and an invoice are basically the same, using a debit memo for an adjustment instead of an invoice helps differentiate adjustments from actual invoices. You might also use a debit memo if you enter a credit memo incorrectly or the credit memo needs to be reversed. For example, you may have used a credit memo to write off a bad debit and then you received a payment on some or all of what you wrote off. An AR cash sale basically creates the equivalent of an invoice and a payment application. A cash sale is typically used when the payment is received at the same time the goods are sold or for transactions such as vending machine income. An AP credit adjustment might be used similar to what you might use an AR debit adjustment. It is basically the same as a voucher but, like indicated above on an AR debit memo, using an AP credit adjustment helps differentiate that it is an adjustment as opposed to a new voucher.
