Carolyn Thank you for the above response; sorry I did not get back to you earlier than today. However, on reviewing your work around you suggested to have the lot number set up to include the date and to set a custom message to prompt on comparing the month criteria to the lot segment name or date. For clarification, will you suggest a prompt while the item is being sold? If so then I guess this will this entail a customization? I am not sure I understand how the shelf days (expiry) operates in SL. When that is set up either globally or on individual items is that setting just for information purposes? Does the system at all stop the user from selling an item that has passed its shelf life? Could you explain a bit how the system will operate normally when an expiration date is used in lot numbering for an item? I would very much appreciate your further input on this issue. Regards
